Lucia August/Everybody Can Dance presents:

More Tales From Your Queer Elder

Debuting at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe is a vibrant celebration of queer life, dance, and storytelling from 70-something movement/spoken word artist Lucia August.

"More Tales From Your Queer Elder" offers a captivating blend of movement and spoken word, drawing from decades of queer experience.

In this intimate 50-minute performance, Lucia shares personal narratives that inspire audiences of all ages to break free from limitations and embrace their best selves, combining heartfelt storytelling with captivating choreography to create a unique show that's both entertaining and deeply moving.  The production features an exciting world premiere alongside timeless gems from Lucia's repertoire.

Lucia has challenged the status quo since day one. Coming out as a lesbian in 1974 when it was still extremely unpopular to do so, to restarting her dance career at 50 years old while inhabiting a non-traditional dancer's body, Lucia has consistently defied expectations.

“My life experiences have shaped my artistic vision," says August. "Through dance and storytelling, I hope to inspire others to break free from their limitations and live their dreams, just as I am doing."

This marks Lucia's fifth Edinburgh Fringe appearance, having previously delighted audiences at the Festival in 2014, 2017, 2022 and 2025. She has been performing her own choreography locally and internationally since 2010. Beyond her performance career, Lucia has worked as a dance therapist for over 40 years, utilising movement for personal healing and community building through her "Everybody Can Dance" workshops.
