There is a pernicious myth that dancers have short careers. Lucia August comprehensively dismantles that lie in More Tales from your Queer Elder at Greenside @ George Street. A storyteller with dance as her most potent medium, August presents a trio of self-choreographed and scripted pieces that draws gentle chuckles as well as genuine tears from her audience.

Lucia August is happy to call herself an Elder. Although she loved dance from an early age, Lucia was not given entry to the dance world until she was 50. Now, at 72, she’s a strong, confident woman, and she wants to share that with us, to encourage everyone to speak their own truth, to plough their own furrow.
